🌳 CLOSING EVENT “FROM SKILLS TO OPPORTUNITIES – DUAL EDUCATION IN THE WOOD INDUSTRY”

Today, at TechPark Prishtina, the Association of Wood Processors of Kosovo (AWPK), in cooperation with KIMERK, held the closing event of the project “Empowering Kosovo’s Wood Industry through Dual Vocational Education and Training Innovation”, marking an important step in promoting Dual VET and developing professional skills in Kosovo’s wood industry.

🤝 It was a great honour for us to welcome representatives of institutions, development partners and the private sector, including Mr. Eric Dietz, Head of Mission, Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Prishtina; Mr. Lah Nitaj, Director of the Department for Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education and Science; as well as Mr. Henrique Stefani and Mr. Luan Hoti, representatives of LuxDev’s project “Skills for Sustainable Jobs in Kosovo.”

The event also brought together representatives of chambers of commerce, institutional partners and donors, sectoral associations, vocational schools and businesses. Their participation highlighted the importance of cooperation between educational institutions and the private sector in developing a skilled workforce that meets labour market needs.

📌 During the event, the project's results, key achievements and implemented activities were presented, along with its contribution to advancing Dual VET in the wood industry. The results were presented by Mr. Astrit Rexhaj, Executive Director of KIMERK, and Ms. Arieta Vula Pozhegu, Executive Director of AWPK.

💻 One of the key highlights was the presentation of the new “Dual Education and Professional Skills” platform by Mr. Agon Jusufi. The platform aims to support the collection and organisation of data, while facilitating access to information and promoting opportunities for vocational education and skills development.

🙏 AWPK extends its sincere appreciation and thanks to the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Prishtina, LuxDev, educational institutions, institutional partners, donors, vocational schools, businesses and all project collaborators for their support, commitment and contribution to advancing Dual VET and developing professional skills in Kosovo.

🌱 From skills to opportunities – together towards a more skilled, competitive and promising wood industry for future generations!
