Meeting of Councils and proposed private sector policy interventions

The engagement of the private sector in the discussion of labor force needs is crucial for the economic growth of Kosovo. USAID in collaboration with the USAID Private Sector-led Workforce Development Activity during the meeting with the Councils held on January 31, 2024 provided a platform for the private sector to advance workforce development policy reforms.
The three Councils unanimously approved the following documents: Council Rules of Procedure (revised version), Grants Commission Rules of Procedure, Councils' Capacity Building Plan, Councils' Work Plan and Policy Action Plan.
During this meeting, it was also discussed about the proposed policy interventions of the woodworking sector, among which the diagnostic assessment of learning in the workplace (piloting the dual education system), the ex-post regulatory assessment of Administrative Instruction No. 137/2020 on Workplace Learning in VET Institutions and the legal framework for the dual education system. The expected result is an understanding of the gaps and needs for legal reform of the regulatory framework of workplace learning and informing the revision of legislation to enable the dual system of education in the sector.
Finding a sustainable and comprehensive workforce solution in the Agribusiness, ICT and Wood Processing sectors remains the goal of USAID, the Private Sector-led Workforce Development Activity and the three relevant Councils.

A good connection starts with a conversation.
