🇽🇰🤝🇹🇷 SHPDK at the High-Level Kosovo–Türkiye Delegation Meeting

The Executive Director of SHPDK, Arieta Vula Pozhegu, participated in the high-level delegation meeting with the Minister of Trade of Türkiye, Mr. Ömer Bolat, upon invitation of Minister Mimoza Kusari-Lila.

On behalf of the wood industry, Director Vula Pozhegu presented SHPDK as the representative association of the sector and shared a clear overview of the current situation:

🌍 Kosovo companies in the sector are successfully exporting to Switzerland, Germany, and other European countries — but not yet to Türkiye.

📦 On the other hand, the sector imports semi-finished materials and finished products from Türkiye, which is the main supplier and the largest import partner for this industry.

💡 It was emphasized that despite Turkish investments in Kosovo in assets, privatization, and services, the missing and most important area of interest is investment in production. Free trade with Türkiye should be viewed as a strategic tool to address this gap.

At ministerial level, Minister Kusari-Lila and Minister Bolat highlighted that the purpose of the meeting was mutual recognition of businesses, creation of new links, and opening opportunities for export growth. Discussions also included improving market access, transport facilitation, and the important role of the Albanian diaspora in Türkiye as a bridge between the two economies.
