SHPDK leads the meeting as a facilitator in the creation of the strategy for the wood industry

Projects, grants, changes for this sector will be based on the results generated by this strategy for the wood processing industry:
The Office for Strategic Planning within the Office of the Prime Minister, organized the first Workshop of the Business Analysis Process with the theme "Analysis of advantages, shortcomings, opportunities and threats (SWOT)" for the wood processing industry.
The first workshop was held on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 09:00 to 12:45, in the Government Building, Room P38.
Since 2018, Kosovo has become part of the Smart Specialization process, which is closely supported and coordinated by the European Commission through the Joint Research Center (JRC). For this process, the National Team for the Drafting of the Smart Specialization Strategy was established, consisting of government, academia, business and civil society representatives. This process is developed through partnership and a bottom-up approach, where smart specialization is about coordinating the activities of all the above-mentioned stakeholders, to work on the implementation of the strategy for long-term growth, supported by EU funds.
The National Team, after quantitative and qualitative analyzes of the economic, innovative and scientific potential of the country, has identified the following areas as priority domains:
· ICT (including wired telecommunications)
· Processing (mainly focusing on wood processing)
· Agri-food industry
· Energy (mainly focusing on green energy)
· Creative Industries
Based on these two analyses, during the September-December period of this year, the entrepreneurship analysis process, known in English as the Entrepreneurial Discovery Process-EDP, is expected to be carried out. For the EDP process, five working groups will be created according to the five priority areas above and a series of workshops will be organized where specific needs and instruments such as policies, measures, and actions to be taken in support of innovation will be discussed.
Each working group for the respective priority area will be coordinated by a designated coordinator from the governmental sector and a facilitator from the private/non-governmental/academic sector. In coordination with the coordinator from the Government, the facilitator is responsible for: directing and moderating the meetings of the working group, documenting the results and leading the decision-making process. The data from the EDP working groups will complement the results obtained from the first phase and will be included in the final document of the Strategy for Smart Specialization in Kosovo. For the priority area of the wood processing industry
The coordinator is Mrs. Valbone Dushi, from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship courses
